Lakeland's first 96pp Garden catalogue, photographed and designed by CHS Creative and launched in Spring 2009 was a runaway success, so when Lakeland re-commissioned CHS to produce the next edition for Spring 2010, there was again, only one choice of photographic location. For guaranteed sunshine, blue skies and gardens that mirrored British summertime at its best, CHS returned in November 2009 to Cape Town South Africa.

The small crew from CHS; photographers Andy and Karen, stylists Becky and Louisa, and Head Of Catalogue Scott Marlow, flew out and shot for 6 days solid, battling fierce heat and wilting potato plants! In the ever present shadow of Table Mountain, one of the most memorable days was on the Sunday. Front Cover day. Scott recalls; "We knew the sun would be perfect at 9am and we'd only have a small shooting window. We arrived on set at 6am, wheel-barrowed hundreds of vegetables and flowers over 200m past the house to the bottom of the disused vegetable garden at our location, where Becky and Louisa expertly dressed the 2 sets, our model arrived at 8.50am and by 9am the light was perfect and we were shooting. Because we'd dressed 2 alternative sets, all the model had to do was turn from one to the other and we had 2 front cover options in the bag."

Scott said "Once again the whole team worked extremely hard to produce some of the most inspiring shots we've seen. It's not easy travelling so far and literally hitting the ground running, but the team really pulled it off, and the client was once again thrilled with the results."
