After completing the launch communications for the Bhs MasterCard a new opportunity was identified. It was clear that training 1200 associates on the New Bhs MasterCard was going to be a challenge in a fast moving, in-store, retail environment. After a few technical conversations The Bhs MasterCard Hub was born - initially on paper, but when complete it was going to revolutionise the way associates were trained.
CHS Creative designed and created a web based, touch screen application that ran on the internal Bhs EPOS terminals. 'The Hub' (as it is known in-store) was built primarily to deliver training modules, but also contained associate news, customer corner and a daily feed of information informing the associate of number approved credit card applications. Phase 2 is now complete, it contains a messaging system that allows communication across the whole business, even store associates who previously had no form of electronic communication. There are new features which are in progress for phase 3 but these are top secret - so you will have to visit our site again soon to find out what they are!
When we created the Bhs MasterCard Hub it was an instant success. Associate use of the site saw a positive effect on both card sales and accepted credit card applications. It was so good that it was entered into the category for Best Technology Initiative of the Year at the Card Awards 2010. The Hub was short listed and although it was a runner up, it was great to be recognised as a leader in this field of financial services marketing.
